your village, your belinda
Belinda Jayne Gilbert
“Belinda puts so much effort into fundraising in the local community and supporting and promoting all things Fleckney. From Albies fundraiser to smaller causes and currently the new scout hut.”
“This lady has helped raise a lot of money for a child who needed some help with access to his house, she is now raising lots of money for the scouts. She is always trying to help others.”
“She’s a busy mum, dealing with additional needs of one of her children, a wife, a nanna, and a friend to many.”
“She is a member of the Parish Council and does so much to help our village for no recognition or reward, with a positive outlook.”
I am really happy to have been nominated as one of the “Fleckney Folk”.
My aim is to make Fleckney a cleaner, healthier and brighter village for all our resident.
Denise Moore posted this picture of the bus shelter opposite Gladstone Street in the Fleckney Community Forum on Facebook. She commented “The bus shelter is looking smart again as well as the flowering pots adding a touch of Summer – residents of Fleckney taking pride in our village – Community spirit at its best”.
The Flowering Pots were my idea and thanks to many kind people who supplied tubs and flowers they were distributed all over the village.
I don’t just organise fundraisers I take part too!
This photo was taken just before a 5k where the kids and myself netted £500 for the homeless.
I organised and ran one of the most successful fundraising events this village has seen “Albie’s DIY SOS”.
The whole village came together to support this and it has inspired me to do more fundraising.
I would like to say thank you to all the other people that also organised fundraising events for Albie. Our combined effort meant that we smashed the target in record time.
In the past 12 months I have organised litter picks, helped to coordinate recycle ventures for the school and other village organisations.
Thanks to kind donations I was able to plant tubs of flowers and distribute these around the village.
I have set up a monthly market in the scout hut where local people can sell their crafts, homemade cakes etc. and also raise money for the new scout building.
I also became a Parish Councillor.
I do not take a wage or any income, all my time is given freely to support our village.
I would like to thank everyone who comes along to support the events I organise, and also those who donate prizes for Raffles and Tombola’s.
(Some of) The story so far ...
I am extremely grateful to everyone who has supported my events and would like to thank those who have nominated me as one of the Fleckney Folk.
